MediClub gives you access to the National HealthCare Provider Network, which includes more than 12,000 healthcare providers across South Africa, including GPs, dentists, optometrists and pharmacies. Members are required to use network providers to access covered benefits.

Yes. Most day-to-day healthcare benefits have a 30-day waiting period from your participation or reinstatement date. Some benefits, such as chronic medication, dentistry and optometry (where applicable), have longer waiting periods. You can still chat to a qualified nurse on WhatsApp for medical advice during the initial waiting period.

Both MediClub options include unlimited GP consultations. The first six GP visits each year do not require WhatsApp Nurse pre-authorisation. From the seventh visit onwards, you’ll need pre-authorisation, which can be obtained through the WhatsApp Nurse service.

If you’re involved in an accident or medical emergency, MediClub provides access to emergency transportation services through Lifemed. Members should contact the emergency number on their digital membership card, and where required, obtain authorisation within the specified timeframes outlined in their policy.

Both plans include unlimited GP consultations, acute medication, pathology, radiology, dentistry, WhatsApp Nurse support and access to the National HealthCare Provider Network. MediClub iPremier includes additional benefits such as chronic medication, specialist visits, optometry, flu vaccinations, health assessments, accidental hospitalisation and accidental death cover, making it a more comprehensive option.
