When can I claim for Sickness Benefit?

You can claim if you’re unable to carry out your usual professional duties because of sickness or injury.

When does the benefit start paying?

Sickness Benefits are subject to either a 7-day or 30-day waiting period, depending on your policy. Please refer to your Policy Certificate to confirm which waiting period applies.

Can I claim for weekends and public holidays?

Yes. Claims may include weekends and public holidays.

Is there a limit to the number of sickness claims I can submit?

There is no limit to the number of claims you may submit. However, claims for the same, consequential or related sickness condition are limited to 728 days.

Can I claim for a pregnancy-related illness?

yes, pregnancy-related sickness claims are covered subject to a ten-month period applicable from the benefit start date and from any increase in cover and policy terms outlined in your PPS Provider Policy.

What if I can only resume part of my duties after being completely incapacitated?

You may be eligible to submit a claim for partial Sick Pay benefit.
