We’ve answered some of the most common questions to help you better understand this solution and make informed decisions with confidence.

When can I submit a PPS Education Cover claim?

A PPS Education Cover claim can only be submitted after the related Disability, Critical/Severe Illness or Life Cover claim has been submitted. Once the underlying claim has been lodged, submit the PPS Education Cover Child Beneficiary Claim Form together with the required supporting documentation.

How will my claim be affected if I have similar cover with another company?

PPS Education Cover benefits are aggregated across all policies. If another insurer pays the school fees, PPS will cover the remaining shortfall up to the specified maximum. Non-tuition benefits provided by PPS will still be paid.

What happens if both parents have PPS Education Cover for the same child?

If both parents hold PPS Education Cover for the same child, only one policy will provide benefits if both parents simultaneously pass away, become disabled or are diagnosed with a severe illness.

To whom are the PPS Education Cover benefits paid?

Tuition fees are paid directly to the educational institution at the start of each academic year. The Necessities Benefit is paid to the child’s legal guardian while the child is a minor, and directly to the beneficiary once they reach adulthood.

When does the cover end?

If a claim is made before the child turns 24, education fees are paid according to the product rules. If no claim is made, cover ends on the child’s 24th birthday. Disability and Severe Illness Cover ends in the month the policyholder turns 66.

Are there any waiting periods for this benefit?

No. There is no waiting period associated with PPS Education Cover.

Who completes the forms?

The policyholder, or a parent or legal guardian on behalf of a minor child, completes the forms. If the child is 18 years or older, they may complete the forms themselves. Assistance is available from the policyholder’s PPS-accredited financial adviser if required.
